February Snow Mosaic Monday

Despite the fact that the weatherman confirmed we were only getting a couple of centimeters of snow, it continued snowing well past that mark. We woke up to a thick blanket over everything. School buses cancelled. Minor roads ignored by the plows and sanders in favour of the major routes. It's only just stopped at around 11:00 this morning. A good time to head south if you ask me ;)

The birds are busy at the feeders today, and the emergency crews are busy with lots of crashes. I cleared the driveway once, but it needs it again. I left the stairs to the front door as I'm sure the mail will not be delivered today.

I'm indoors now until later this afternoon. Not looking forward to that! My son was hoping for a day off school since the buses were cancelled, but I drove him over there anyway. Poor boy. He'll be a frozen popsicle by the time he gets home this afternoon.

I hope you're all warm and cozy where you are!

Thanks for stopping by.

Wendy

  1. This seems to be a snowy winter...we had another inch or so overnight.. Schools were 2 hours late.. I just glad I did not have to go out in it and hubby did the shoveling.. :)

  5. Yeah! One centimetre they said. Think we should all chip in for a ruler for the peeps at the weather centre?

  7. No snow here yet (thankfully) - just a very bizarre 20 minutes last Thursdsy when there was a massive hailstorm that turned a bit snowy, enough to make everything look white but basically just slush underneath. Children most upset.

  8. You did get a lot of snow - no doubt our place is buried too! That is one thing I worry about while away, our bird feeders. Perhaps the neighbour checking the house will see the peanuts by the back door and throw a few out the back door now and then.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Wendy, stay warm!

  10. Though the blanket of snow seems to have interrupted your everyday living, it sure makes for beautiful photos of a wintry landscape. I love the photos of snippets of your lovely home....that front window is gorgeous.

  11. Still coming down here. I'm balancing the need to do chores when there's still enough light to sense the snow-covered barnyard obstacles with the wish to feed the goats their evening grub as late as possible so they will have a hearty supper plus leftovers to munch on in the morning.
We've got...a lot of snow. And did I mention it's still coming down?
    Hello, February. I remember you.

  12. Your images are lovely, Wendy! Nonetheless, I think those of us who live in snow country will all be happy when spring comes.

  13. That is indeed a thick blanket of snow. I can't imagine driving in it....but I'm sure you know how to get through it all. It's 70 degrees here today so a big difference this week! Take care and have a good afternoon! Stay warm! Hugs, Diane

  14. Well, it is certainly very pretty anyway! It's always pretty unless you have to drive in it or shovel it, right? We are very soggy, foggy and gray here. Typical Seattle weather. This time of year just drags and drags while we dream of springtime. Hang in there and stay cozy! xo Karen

  18. Beautiful and cold! I love seeing your pictures, reminds me of the snow we had growing up in Idaho. Now I'm a Texan who gets cold when it hits 30! I do know it's a safety concern, so you take of your sweet self!

  19. Snow is lovely when someone else has it or it's on mountaintops. I don't like the cold and eventually mess that come with it. I do appreciate it's beauty while it's freshly fallen, pristine, and sparkles like glitter. :o)

  20. I have always said winter is so beautiful-If you do not have to drive in it-I did my share of winter driving when I was working-so glad I can just enjoy the beauty of it now-this winter no snow yet where I live

  21. This is a beautiful scene, although I am sure it is harder to appreciate when you have to go out and shovel it off the drive , and then to drive in it. i am in Texas, and it rarely snows here, however, I grew up in illinois, so have had plenty of past experience with this. I missed it for years after coming to Texas, but now appreciate it the most when I see it on another persons blog. Gorgeous views, and thanks for stopping by my blog this morning. Hugs to you, and off to work I go!

  22. That's a lot of snow. It looks very pretty but I know all too well what it's like to try and stay ahead of the accumulation. I hope you were able to stay home and enjoy it.

  24. Yes, you definitely beat us in the how much snow we had stakes. That really is a lot isn't it. I hope that you could travel safely and that all is well with you now. Stay warm too! xx
