It's been a very green winter this year, but today the snow at last has arrived. A lot of people are quite disappointed, my husband included! But what's not to love about a fresh snowfall, that is still coming down, on green trees. The photo opportunities abound, but I was unable to get out to the deep woods where it would look spectacular, and had to content myself with my shaggy white pine in the backyard. It reminds me of a big hairy dog all covered in snow and wanting to have a good shake!
Cody doesn't look too happy out there, but he actually loves to romp in the snow. We went out there a little later to enjoy this. The bird feeders were filled up, but it seems the birds were hunkering down in the bushes waiting for a bit of a let up. It snowed steadily until about 3:00 pm.
And at the front of the house later in the afternoon ...
The trees and bushes were starting to hang low by mid afternoon!
Of course I say how much I love the snow, but I'm fortunate that I don't have to drive in it if I don't want to. And I really don't want to, so I went out for a little tobogganing fun in the morning, and had a cozy day in after lunch. I left the driveway for my husband to clear out since he was looking forward to using the snowblower. The snow clouds have blown away now, and it's supposed to reach +6C by the weekend. The snow isn't going to last long ... will have to get out to enjoy it again today too!
Thanks for stopping by!
Wendy
Hello, dear Wendy! First of all, I wanted to thank you for the lovely visit to my blog a few days ago. Forgive me for just now visiting you as I was away for 5 days.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful blog and I was delighted to see you're from Canada! My dad and his side of the family are Canadian so I lived in Ontario for several years growing up. It's always a joy to go back and visit.
I am so happy to be following you and I look forward to visiting again. Hugs!
Very pretty Wendy, I'm soooo behind on commenting life has been a little busy of late . I will catch up at the weekend take care xx
ReplyDeleteI love a fresh snow fall too-wow this is really late in the year for your area to get a good snow fall-I have not been tobaganing since I was a very young girl-don't if these old bones could do that lol
ReplyDeleteIt does look so pretty, but I'm not too sorry that we've not had snow this year. I hate having to drive in it.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful with a dusting of crisp white snow. How gorgeous your garden looks Wendy. I hope Cody enjoyed his romp!
ReplyDeleteHello, pretty snowy images. The pines always look lovely covered with snow. Your Cody does look unhappy with the snow at this time. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Colorado and I had to drive in the snow it scared me to death. Don't miss it at all. As I always say, snow is pretty in pictures, not in real life.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you had at least some snow now! Your garden looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snow and let's hope you will have some sunny days as well. :)

It looks so beautiful! I love walking through new-fallen snow and looking for tracks of the little birds and animals. We haven't had much snow this year - El Nino has kept us unseasonably warm, but winter is not over yet! Lovely photos - enjoy the beauty! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI also like snow...as long as I don't have to drive in it!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, about time you got some snow but nice that you don't have to drive if the roads are bad. It will be interesting to see how much is left when we get back home.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! Do send some snow over, Wendy, we are in the middle of an unexpected heat wave.

Love the snow captures! So weird, in California we had snow already at the end of Nov. and with Christmas at 3000 feet(didn't stay long, either time though) - since you live so much more North!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finally got some snow & can enjoy the fun in it! Although I still hope we all get a nice early Spring. Lol ;). Enjoy the nice & cozy for now though sweet Gal. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe snow is so serene and beautiful in pictures (and yours are stunning) but when I am in it (even in a warm and cozy indoor place) I don't feel serene at all! Definitely not a winter person, which is why we're here in Florida!
