Tea Time Sewing

It's always tea time at my house. I wake up with tea, drink tea throughout the day, and have a tea before retiring for the night. If I'm having a good day, tea makes it even brighter. If I'm having a bad day, tea makes it all better ;)

When I recently needed a few small gifts for an exchange with like-minded ladies, I decided to make it all about tea. I made these little coasters, and since I think everyone has received them now, I figured it's safe to show them ...

The idea isn't my own, but from Pinterest, here, and slightly modified. The original version was actually a zippered tea pouch. I simplified it to be just a coaster. I made identical fronts and backs, stitched these together and then machine quilted around towards the centre. They were lots of fun to make with pretty bits of scrap fabric I had lingering in my cupboard.

The felt hearts were embroidered around the edge and attached with a bit of thread. All in all, I think they turned out well and looked so cute all lined up together.

Thanks for stopping by!
Wendy
