4. Snowdrops surviving the snow ... which is thankfully gone ... again!

Thanks for stopping by!
Wendy
I really like snowdrops. They are quite the resilient plant. I plan to plant quite a few of them this fall. I hope you received some sun instead of snow!! Your dog is so cute! ~ Stacy
ReplyDeleteVery resilient, and the only plant flowering in the garden at the moment. I'm considering getting more to plant here and there.
DeleteI can't get over the snow! So glad it is gone! I especially love your photos of the spools above! And your pup has such a cute face!! I hope that you have an awesome week!!! Nicole
ReplyDeleteYes, snow left the following day, thankfully! Even the grass is starting to green up. I love the wooden spools too, and pick them up whenever I see them. Have a great week Nicole!
DeleteThose finds would make me happy too. Love Cody's nose! Gorgeous doggie.
ReplyDeleteCody does have a rather long nose for his breed, I have to be careful how I photograph him so it doesn't look any longer (which offends him slightly).
DeleteHello Wendy, thanks for your lovely comments over at mine!
ReplyDeleteLots of the sewing bits and pieces are familiar to me as my Mam sewed for a living ... I just love finding things like this. I once found a huge Tupperware sewing box with lift out compartments, at a car boot sale, full to the brim with press studs, buttons on and off cards, hooks and eyes, elastic, etc, oh and loads of Sylko threads ... treasure indeed!
What beautiful blue eyes Cody has, gorgeous doggy!
Enjoy your week, and hope it gets a bit warmer for both of us!
Love Claire xx
Whenever I see a sudden supply of sewing pieces at the thrift store it kind of makes me sad to wonder if an old lady has passed on and no one wanted her little treasures. These buttons smelled very musty and I think they must've been tucked away in an attic or basement for a very long time. I'm not sure I want to take them off the cards!
DeleteYes, Cody has one pretty blue eye and one golden brown :) Fingers crossed for warmer weather (haven't shed the winter coats yet!) XOX
Oh wow those spools and buttons would make my heart sing too. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteThey do make me happy :) I love finding the sewing treasures at the thrift store!
DeleteGreat finds at the thrift store, and your Cody is just so lovely - fab happy moments!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Xx
Thanks Gilly ... have a great week!
DeleteI, too, would have been thrilled to find all those haberdashery bits. I'm especially fond of old hook and eye and snaps packaging! Your dog is utterly gorgeous. Our family dog (no longer with us, sadly) was a daschund of exactly the same colouring - she was in a litter of pups next door but one, and as an albino offspring of pedigree dogs, they were thinking they'd be unable to find her a home, but my Mum brought her home to show us and we all fell for her. She was completely deaf and her eyesight was a bit impaired, but such a lovely dog, and so pretty!

These are the best little cards I've ever found (age wise). We used to have a red daschund when I was growing up (Skipper). Someone dropped him off at our house and never retrieved him. We had him for 16 years! They are lovely dogs I agree. My brother got another one when he left home, black & tan. Cody's breed (Australian shepherd) also have the problem of having albino pups (which are often deaf and/or blind), when both parents are merles (like Cody). Have a great week!
Delete~ Happy of happiest Monday greetings to YOU! Wendy...Ooh and Cody too! He is such a lovely dog...LOVE vintage sewing bits and bobs...I have my Grandma's sewing box, complete with vintage thimble and Bakelite pin box!I treasure this....I do hope this week is kinder to you on the weather front....Pesky snow be OFF with YOU! With kindest thoughts...Maria x
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have vintage sewing treasures that belonged to a loved one. I have my grandmother's thimble, but it's too small for me to use. The bag of sewing goodies also had a couple of thimbles (hard plastic) from 'Bergmann's Laundry' with this saying around it 'Don't get stuck, stick with us'. Never heard of Bergmann's. I put in extra photos of Cody just for you Maria ;) Happy week to you!
DeleteVintage haberdashery, fluffy dog and gone snow......bliss! Have a great week Wendy! :) x
ReplyDeleteYou said it Ada! Hope you have a great week too ;)
DeleteThose are happy-making things indeed! Your Cody is gorgeous. Our pup is half Australian Shepherd, and he's something of a nut.
ReplyDeleteBut a smart nut right?! Cody can be a bit bonkers at times too (and he barks WAY too much when people ring the doorbell), but most times he's calm and well-behaved.
DeleteWe've just replanted some snowdrops in our pots out front and they are blooming really nicely! So cheery to see their little droopy heads on a fresh morning!
ReplyDeleteAaaannnd as you know you also won in my little competition Wendy, so if you would be so kind as to shoot me a mail to hazeler27@gmail.com with your address, I'll get your suprise off to you asap! :) Have a great week xxx
I definitely want to plant more snowdrops in the fall ... so cute! I've sent you an email with my address ... can't wait!! :D
Deletegood morning, enjoyed all the photos-great finds too
ReplyDeleteGood morning Kathy! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, I got a few other nice finds too, but they'll wait for another day ;)
DeleteLove your finds Wendy, I have the odd wooden spool from my mum...I know she has some lovely vintage haberdashery hidden away too..and some in use!
ReplyDeleteAli x
I got a few spools from my mom too, but can never resist a few more ;)
DeleteThese are happy things indeed. Love the photos of yoru dog, he is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThose lovely images made me happy too. It's the little things, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteCody is such a handsome boy. Hope you are having a good week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHey Wendy, lovely snapshots from the past week.
ReplyDeleteI just love the snap cards and I'm quite partial to wooden cotton reels as well.
Cody looks very comfortable on that quilt......
I can imagine how pleased you are the snow has gone........
Enjoy the new week, hope there's sunshine and blue sky.
