This spring seems to be off to a bit of a slow start. I was admiring my friend Amy's gardens on her blog yesterday, and kind of wished our gardens were as far along as hers. I looked back through my photos of my gardens last spring, and these photos were taken on May 11, 2016. It's still a couple of weeks' difference, but there is nothing in my garden yet except for one flower. So here are some images of what the gardens will hopefully soon look like again.
Well that has cheered me up a bit.
Been a crappy day all round.
Wendy
What a delightful sight!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these lovely photographs, the colours in them are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
These flowers certainly brightened my day. Looking forward is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are a cheery sight. Hope today is better for you Wendy xx
ReplyDeleteLovely photo's Wendy I'm sure it wont be long before you can welcome those lovely flowers again when they bloom. My garden looks awful at the minute there's so much work I don't know where to start. I have my bleeding hearts in pots I have a pink one and a white one and look forward to them blooming each Spring. :) x
ReplyDeleteHello, Gorgeous blooms! One of my favorite plants is the bleeding hearts. They are all so colorful and pretty. Lovely images. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plants, they'll bloom soon and when my garden is wilting in the heat yours will be gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they get back to looking like that beautiful garden soon! I think it could be the winter we've had that is affecting when the flowers are blooming and setting things off at a different time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plants and lovely pictures...

Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers. It always amazes me when bloggers from the West coast show their blooms in February/March! I'm grateful when I see my flowers (which thrive under my neglect) popping up again in the spring.
ReplyDeleteDid you hear about the record-breaking rainfall that we received yesterday? The creek overflowed so the area around the Tim Horton's and MacDonald's flooded!
Flowers are slow to arrive here this year, too. Butchart Gardens estimates that there's a month's difference between this year and last. Isn't it wonderful that we have these memories in the form of photos to cheer us up, and anticipate what's coming?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've had a lousy day. Hugs across the miles.
Beautiful flowers to dream about, Wendy. This is a strange year in many places. It's been so wet here this year that hardly any of my daffodils bloomed. Everything is so mossy and soggy. My dogs don't even want to go out! I hope you get some warm sunshine soon to lift your spirits. Sending hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteWonderful floral shots, lovely to anticipate them coming into bloom.

Your pictures are gorgeous, and soon you will be taking a whole portfolio of new ones, I bet! When it starts, it really STARTS! Bits of green appearing everywhere. I was thinking yesterday I should look at some of my pictures from last year to help identify tiny sprouts this year...last year I carefully protected a sprouts that I hoped was one of my newly-planted perennials from the year prior. I had to laugh at myself when it turned out to be a wild radish - of which I have hundreds. But by the time I identified it I was so attached to it, I kept it all summer!
ReplyDeleteLove the floral shots. So very pretty. I am itching to work some in my yards but no time lately. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that your garden will soon look like it did last year and all those lovely flowers will come back again. It has been an odd year weather wise. We woke up to a light dusting of snow and a bracing wind this morning! That isn't going to help the fruit blossoms and tender plants at all. Your photos are lovely it's hard to think that it will soon be lilac time:)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers cheered me up too! Cool and rainy again today but at least I had a full day in the gardens yesterday. I put a bunch of lupine seeds in a new area and only two germinated, not a lot of luck with them.
ReplyDeleteI find my garden is coming along by leaps and bounds, so hopefully yours is as well. If your pictures are any indication, you have lots to look forward to again this May!
ReplyDeleteSpring will come soon enough I am sure, Wendy, and will be every bit as nice as last year's.

Ah, sorry your lovely flowers are late this year Wendy. You might be interested that those exact tiny violas in Picture 7, are currently blooming like crazy on my deck. The seasons must be about to switch over to the other side of the world :)
