The clock is ticking, and time is short. This post is going to be short too! I promised Diane a photo of a bear who lives here in our house. I made him a little corduroy hat and coat a few months ago. My dad had some pants that no longer fit, so rather than throw them out, I salvaged the good bits and there was just enough to make this up. The hat is from a fairly new pattern. The coat is from an old pattern from the 50s or 60s that my mom passed on to me years ago..
If the battery on my camera hadn't just died, and if I already had the pattern out, I would have shown you the pattern too. I believe it was Simplicity, and I noticed that Simplicity has brought back a lot of these old doll clothes patterns ... same pictures on the pattern envelope and everything!
Right now I have to get back to my tree and finish getting all of this ...
hung from the branches!
Oh yes, and then there's the matter of sewing a bathrobe for my 6' tall son ... no pressure.
Thanks for stopping by :)
Wendy

ReplyDeleteI love the bear's new outfit! In fact, I think that same ensemble would really improve my own wardrobe tremendously!
ReplyDeleteHave fun decorating your tree. I have been so wrapped up (heh) in other projects, I may not even get to putting up a tree...but it's still on the list, just in case!
Now, out to unload the car. Just taking a little break between trips to pick up insulation. Only 2 bags will fit in my car at one time, so it's been a few trips!

ReplyDeleteA sweet bear, and I know how much Diane loves crafting them. So much to do and the time is running out...we've already hosted one daughter and family and the other is coming this weekend.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to take time for you Wendy, afternoon tea is my relaxing hour every day.
Now you make me want to make a bear. I haven't made a bear in years, but I found my favorite pattern in the attic recently.
ReplyDeleteThat coat and hat are precious!
He is just adorable! My mom just commented that a lot of doll patterns were back out. She likes making things like that too! I lay all of my ornaments out like that too. Should take a picture. Yours look so pretty on display.

ReplyDeleteThe coat and hat you made for the bear are so cute! I wish I knew how to sew, but I'm hopeless at it. I still have ornaments to go on the tree, too, but I'm almost there. Oh wait...I forgot, I still have cookies to bake and presents to wrap. I'm crossing my fingers for you and me, Wendy, that we get everything done!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Victoria
