Dr. Who!

Actor David Tennant is to portray the Time Lord in a film version of the science-fiction series Doctor Who, according to reports.

I used to suffer through the original series of Dr. Who on television with my brother when we were kids.  I thought it so lame!  But now I just love the newer series, and my husband, son and I all sit down to watch the episodes on DVD ... such great entertainment ... almost as good as "Firefly" ;)

Here's to 50 years!

And as a joke, my son put this on my screen saver tonight trying to scare me ... I'll get him back somehow using that stone gargoyle from his pond!!  Just you wait!!  >:[
He better not blink!

Don't Blink!!!!

  2. Oh no, the stone angels.
    I used to live near the Roundtowers where there was an episode filmed about cybermen...the place gave me the creeps!

  4. Dr Who??? Ah, Dr Who, that's who! We've watched the programme from its inception Wendy, then with our kids and now occasionally with our grandkids too and how it's changed over the years. Sometimes these days I find it a bit scary but then I can't have any excitement near to bedtime or I have nasty dreams! Just a big kid at heart! I loved David Tennant as the doctor! Hopefully you'll find opportunity to get back at your son, and do a good job of it, haha! Hugs, Joy xo

  5. My sister and I used to watch Dr Who sat on the sofa with a cushion in front of our faces! I've not watched any of the new ones except for the Christmas episodes....perhaps I should try and catch some! :) x

  6. I'm a great fan of Doctor Who! I missed it all through the eighties and early nineties because I lived abroad but I've loved all the new series, can't wait to see it tonight! :)

  7. I must be living in a different decade because I have never heard of Dr. Who!! It sounds like a very popular movie with everyone...I am going to have to keep my eye out for that one. Also, I would diffidently get him back.....that's one scary picture!

  8. This is a show I still have yet to find interest in. I watched the 1st episode of the 1st series and then the 1st episode of the series with Billy Piper. I found the latter slightly more interesting but still not enough to keep watching. However, I'm not a TV series watcher anyway and even when I like a show I tend not to watch it all the way through. I guess I'm more a movie kind of woman. ; }

  10. Oh boy. LOL. I've tried and tried to get into Dr. Who but it just isn't my thing. It's awesome to see how popular the whole franchise has become though, it really has staying power. I do remember being really scared of the Dr. Who they had in the early 80's when I was a little kid, he was the one with the curly hair and the striped scarf. That guy terrified me. I actually remember having nightmares about him!

    Would you care for a jelly baby?

  14. Hi there, just catching up on your posts! I don't rally watch Dr Who but I am a big David Tennant fan and I love that picture of him! Your scarves below are just lovely too. Interesting to read your post about comments on blogging too. I am also a no reply blogger. I rarely reply to any comments on my blog but I will answer any questions there, I prefer to visit people's blogs in return and leave them a little comment on their post. It's a time issue really, I just don't have time to reply to all comments individually and also visit and comment on blogs, so I had to chose one or the other. I try to thank commenters on my next post as well though, so that people know I appreciate them!
    The Christmas decoration swap....! The other person that had asked me about the swap has not got back to me I'm afraid, this was over a week ago, so I assume that she no longer wants to participate. If you are still interested in taking part, I will put a little note on my next blog post to find you a swap partner if you like. I would love to swap with you myself but I already have two bloggers I am swapping with.
